When not performing I’ve been attaching a couple of my New Years Resolutions, one bing to watch a TED talk every day and another to to see more live shows. Already this year I’ve seen a lot, I’d love to dicuss some of them in some depth but this probably not the right place for such discussions. But I must mention The DV8 show, ‘Can We Talk About This?‘.

The show was recommended to me by a few reliable sources and although I’m not a huge contemporary dance fan I put my doubts aside and went to see the show. Simply put, it’s one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. It inspired me (along with some of Penn & Tellers latest publishings) to push what I do on stage a little more.

In that vain I’m presenting two ideas at Jackson’s Lane on the 12th of June. More info to come!

Most resently I performed in Smashed at a French cultural festival in Paris, Maison Des Jonglages (House of Juggling). It was an interesting festival with a lovely atmosphere, full of contempory and experimental juggling performances, some agreeing with my taste others not so much. A personal highlight was seeing one of Erik Åberg’s juggling lectures, centring on historical figure Paul Cinquevalli.

This week I’m performing with Gandini Juggling at the BJC in a one off ‘Event show’ and Smashed (you may see a pattern emerging here!). Then I’m back to London to do some more training and to watch some more of CircusFest. Particularly looking forward to seeing my friends So&So (I helped educate them on the wonders of WordPress!) present their new show, ‘Backgammon for Beginners‘.

Oh and it’s possible that you have noticed the frequency of updates slow down here, that’s because Circus Geeks has been thriving and taking up a little more time than before. Hopefully I can send a little more time and attention on this blog and site which needs some updating….

I spent my February entreating audiences on stages and at trade shows, generating some energy at this somewhat cold time of year. I also put in lots of practice as I’m building to a longer set/show in mid June (more on that soonish).

As ever lots of content is going up on my other blog project CircusGeeks which is worth keeping on eye on if you like that sort of thing.

Next week I’m performing in Mat Ricardo’s London Varieties, which I recon will be lots of fun and well worth a £10. See you there!

I’ve been in rehearsals with Gandini Juggling preparing for a few shows around the UK and France.

And most recently I’ve been working on an exciting project made possible thanks to Lab:time funding. Longer write up and video to come on this but for now here’s a couple of images from my findings…

And I’m working on a speaking based act which requires some home made props…

Anyway that’s enough for now, I probably need to post a little more frequently!

Currently working on a speaking act, hopefully with some comedy mixed in. Writing (or at least trying to write) comedy is a new experience for me and one that I’m finding a challenge and enjoyable.

Looking forward to winter in London (although a week away with Gandini Juggling in France is also planned in December).

Over the last 6 weeks I’ve been on tour, doing two shows every day. So keeping the blog up to date has slipped down my list of priorities.
